I got my own first camera when I was 14 or so. At the time, I didn't see myself going into photography. It was fun but just didn't seem a direction for me. But in the last six years, I have found myself irresistibly drawn towards photography and photo editing.
Seven years after I got that first camera, I started moving up in the quality of cameras that I used personally and artistically. When I at last ended up with a DSLR, I was amazed at how comfortable I was with learning all of the in's and out's of a "big camera". I also began experimenting with Adobe Photoshop, and through some classes and much trial and error, have learned how to navigate it by experimenting on my own photos. I am passionate about photography and excited to continue using multiple avenues to improve myself with my art!
More recently, I took on a challenge to do a 365 project which involves posting a picture a day on a blog. If you are so inclined to peruse my pictures from my project so far, you can see them at pinklemonadephoto.blogspot.com. Thanks for looking!
About Janai
I have always wanted to be an artist but unfortunately have not been blessed with the ability to draw or paint. Then I found photography.
I started off with a point-and-shoot film camera in high school, taking rolls and rolls of film but not doing much other than sticking the decent pictures in albums. I really began getting into photography four years ago when my then-boyfriend, now-husband bought me my first DSLR (and I no longer had to worry about the cost of taking 300 pictures in a day). I got hooked and shortly thereafter started using Photoshop to edit my photos and to create digital scrapbooks/journals of our life together. I've since branched out into family history books, collecting stories of my ancestors as well as pictures and compiling them for the future generations.
I love using photography to document special moments and daily living. I am passionate about taking beautiful pictures and using them in a way that they can be enjoyed by many people over the years. I have also started a photo blog, which you are welcome to view at: wildstarphotography.blogspot.com
